The TDSB community is thrilled to share that Davin Yu, a long-time educator at Alexander Stirling Public School, has been named one of PHE Canada’s 2024–2025 National Award Recipients — a prestigious honour that recognizes his transformative impact on physical and health education.
With over 21 years of dedicated service, Davin has redefined what it means to create inclusive, engaging, and empowering HPE spaces. From launching Open Gym programs and leading intramurals to building meaningful community partnerships, Davin has consistently centred student well-being.
During the pandemic, Davin went above and beyond to support his community, leading daily morning workouts that inspired and uplifted TDSB staff across the system. These workouts became a tool for connection during uncertain times.
Davin’s leadership has earned the Gold Ophea Standards Award, glowing endorsements from current and former school administrators, and strong support from community partners who see the difference he makes — every single day.
