Specialized Elementary Schools and Programs

TDSB students have access to specialized schools and programs that offer unique opportunities and focus on a variety of interests. Each specialized program has specific requirements as well as unique admission criteria. Application is made directly to each program. Please contact the school you are interested in for more information. 

Elementary Academies

Does your child have a passion for sports or music? Are they interested in developing their leadership skills or attending a school with a focus on healthy, active living? If so, the Elementary Academies could be the right place for them to explore their individuality and creativity within the TDSB.

Students with a passion for visual and performing arts may be interested in one of the TDSB's specialized elementary arts schools:

High Performance Athletes: 

This program offers a compressed and flexible learning environment that empowers elite athletes to strive for both academic and athletic excellence. 

Cyber Arts:

The Cyber Arts program integrates artistic expression and knowledge of design with technical experience, combining the Fine Arts with Computer Technology and Communication Media.

International Baccalaureate

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a recognized leader in the field of international education, encouraging students to be active learners, well-rounded individuals and engaged world citizens. The TDSB is proud to have a number of authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Schools.  

The Primary Years Program for students aged 3 to 12 focuses on the development of the whole child in the classroom and in the world outside.

The Middle Years Program for students aged 11 to 16 provides a framework of academic challenge and life skills, achieved through embracing and transcending traditional school subjects.
