December 3, 2021: Message to Elementary Parents/Caregivers
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does everyone need to complete the Switch Form?
A: No. Only students requesting a switch in method of instruction need to complete a Switch Form.
Q: Where do I find my child’s Trillium student number?
A: The Trillium number is the student number your child uses to log in to their TDSB account or a TDSB device. If you or your child does not know the Trillium number, please contact your school and they can provide you with that information. Do not use the Ontario Education Number (OEN), which is located on the Report Card.
Q: Are all switch requests guaranteed?
A: While we cannot guarantee that all requests for a switch can be met, it is our goal to accommodate as many as possible based on available programs and space (e.g. French Immersion, Extended French, Specialized Programs, Alternative Schools, other limited circumstances).
Q: Can I request virtual learning if I don’t have a computer/internet at home?
A: Yes, there is a space to indicate this on the Switch Form. Your school will then connect with you prior to the Switch Date to provide a device if needed. The school will complete a form requesting internet access if needed.
Q: Can I change my mind later in the school year?
A: The Elementary Switch Form (open from December 3 to January 7) is the only opportunity to request a switch in method of instruction for the 2021-22 school year. Elementary classes will reflect changes due to switches beginning on February 22, 2022.
