Selection Form for In-Person or Virtual Learning

We look forward to reconnecting all students to their home schools in September. While requests for Virtual Learning will be accommodated, we strongly encourage all students to select In-Person Learning for the 2021-22 school year.

Note: The details below could change between now and September 2021 as we receive new and/or updated information and guidelines from the Ministry of Education and Toronto Public Health.

Health and Safety
The TDSB continues to work closely with Toronto Public Health (TPH) and the Ministry of Education and takes direction from them on the public health measures to be implemented in schools for the 2021-22 school year. Learn more about health and safety measures in TDSB schools

Ventilation in Schools
Ventilation is one strategy to help prevent and slow the spread of COVID-19 in schools by helping to reduce the number of virus particles in the air. The TDSB has focused on several areas to improve ventilation in schools and keep students and staff healthy. Learn more about ventilation in TDSB schools

Technology
TDSB is committed to supporting all families who select Virtual Learning as their child’s learning model for the year by providing a loaned computing device (e.g. Chromebook, iPad). There will be a space on the online Selection Form to indicate if your child requires a device for Virtual Learning. Devices will be distributed to families by home schools for the 2021-22 school year.

Switching Between Learning Models
TDSB is committed to student success. Movement of students between In-Person and Virtual Learning is disruptive to individual student success, to the class and impacts staff ability to support students. There will be one opportunity for students to switch between In-Person Learning and Virtual Learning in February for Term 2 (elementary) and for Semester 2 (secondary).
