On May 4, Grade 7 and 8 students from across the TDSB came together to pitch their mobile app designs and participate in #MSICEdAppHack, a hackathon competition supported by Model Schools for Inner Cities.

Twenty five teams of budding entrepreneurs pitched their apps to industry leaders in IT and education who determined a three-way tie for first place.

And the winners were…

These three outstanding teams, along with their dedicated teachers, won the opportunity to visit Apple Canada's head offices in downtown Toronto, and get mentorship and coding support from Apple to refine their prototypes into iOS apps that you may one day find on the App Store.

Congratulations also go out to peer choice winners:

Congratulations to all participating teams!
