Celebrating Good News – Read about some of the recent events, initiatives and great things happening across the Toronto District School Board, including:
Indigenous History Month – June is National Indigenous History Month and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a time to celebrate and learn from First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples’ diverse cultures, histories, contemporary contexts, perspectives, and achievements. Learn more.
Italian Heritage Month – TDSB has proudly recognized Italian Heritage Month since 2012. This year’s theme, La Dolce Vita: Celebrating the Sweet Life of Italian Culture, highlights the beauty of Italian traditions, food, and lifestyle. Portuguese-Speaking Heritage Month – TDSB has proudly recognized Portuguese-Speaking Heritage Month since 2011. This year’s theme, A Festa of Food, explores the rich culinary traditions of Portuguese-speaking communities. Join us in celebrating with a parade, cultural events, and more. Learn more.
Pride Month – June is Pride Month at the TDSB! It’s an opportunity to celebrate diversity and raise awareness among staff and students about the rich culture and history of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. We look forward to celebrating Pride 2025 with all 2SLGBTQ+ students, staff, and allies. Learn more about upcoming activities and how you can get involved here.
Community Consultations –
This Spring, TDSB students, families and community members who self-identify as
part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community are invited to attend a consultation to support
a multi-dimensional strategy that affirms diverse and intersectional 2SLGBTQ+
identities and addresses biphobia, transphobia, and homophobia within the
TDSB.

Reminder: Math Learning Resources Survey – Parents, guardians, and caregivers are invited to complete a Math Learning Resources Survey by June 6, 2025. Your input will help us make informed decisions about math resources to support student learning and achievement.
Latin x/o/a Task Force – Following a community consultation to explore ways to improve achievement for students from the Latin America diaspora, the Task Force is forming a working group focused on organizing system-wide educational opportunities. TDSB Takes Action in Response to Climate Crisis – The TDSB is making significant progress in the fight against climate change, from saving $1.35 Million in energy costs to planting nearly 1,500 trees. Learn more.
TDSB Summer Well-Being Guide: Access culturally responsive and identity-affirming resources to support the mental well-being of students and families throughout the summer. From mindfulness practices and creative activities to physical movement and access to local programs, the guide - available in TDSB’s top 22 spoken languages - includes a wide range of tools to help enjoy a healthy, balanced summer.
Register Now for TDSB Summer Programs – At the TDSB, a wide range of enriching summer programs are available to students! Check out what’s happening for Summer 2025:
- International Languages & African Heritage Programs – Running from July 2 to 25 for students in Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8 (TDSB and non-TDSB), the programs explore language, culture, and heritage through interactive learning. Learn more.
- Grade 8 Summer Reach Ahead Opportunity – Current Grade 8 students who are entering Grade 9 in September 2025 can register for the summer course: Technology and the Skilled Trades (TAS101). Learn More.
2025-26 School Year Calendar – The 2025-26 School Year Calendar is now available online. The first day of classes for all students is Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Student Transportation for 2025-26 – The Toronto Student Transportation Group will phase in transportation for the 2025-26 school year. Service begins Tuesday, September 2 for students with special education needs (excluding those in the gifted program). All other eligible students will start Monday, September 8, pending driver availability. Please sign up for the Student Transportation Parent Portal for key updates.
