Urgent Update: Schools and Sites Closed Tomorrow

Dear Parents/Guardians/Caregivers and Students,

As you may know, Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the City of Toronto saying travel will become hazardous.

With widespread blowing snow, damaging winds, poor visibility, and flash freezing currently being forecast for tomorrow and into the weekend, we have made the decision, together with the Toronto Catholic District School Board, to close all schools (including all K-12 virtual learning classes), administrative buildings and sites to students and staff tomorrow - Friday, December 23, 2022.

All Child Care centres and before and after school programs located in TDSB schools will also be closed and all permits will be cancelled for the day. All in-person Continuing Education after school and evening courses are also cancelled tomorrow. This includes – International Languages Elementary and African Heritage, Learn4Life Community Programs and Adult ESL.

We recognize that these decisions can have a significant impact on thousands of families across Toronto and are not taken lightly, however given the current weather forecast, we felt it was prudent to make this decision now to provide families and staff with as much notice as possible.

As we approach the end of the day, please take home any belongings needed for tomorrow or over the Winter Break.

Thank you.
