The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) Student Senate is an elected body of students dedicated to representing the voice of over 239,000 students across the largest school board in Canada.

Our Purpose

The TDSB Student Senate serves as a vital link between students and Trustees, ensuring that student voices are represented at the board level. Through monthly meetings, we address key issues, develop board-wide initiatives, and foster open communication between students and the Board.

In collaboration with our three Student Trustees, we gather student perspectives and provide direct feedback to inform discussions at the Board level. We actively contribute to policy development and review, advocating for student interests and ensuring that their needs and concerns are considered in decision-making. Through our engagement with Trustees and Board staff, we strive to create meaningful change within the TDSB.

The TDSB Student Senate hosts monthly Learning Centre Meetings at different schools within each of the four Learning Centres (LCs). Students are encouraged to attend the meeting for their respective LC to stay informed, share their perspectives, and engage with student representatives. 

These meetings provide an opportunity for the Senate to update students on ongoing policies, projects, and initiatives. It is also a great opportunity for students to voice their ideas, concerns, and feedback on issues that matter. Your input helps shape student advocacy and ensures that the student voice is heard at the board level.
