Tom Longboat Junior Public School

Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful

Tom Longboat Junior Public School is located in the Malvern community, north west of the Malvern Town Centre. The school opened in 1978 and is named after Tom Longboat, one of Canada's Onondaga Aboriginals, who became a world-class long distance runner in the early 1900's.

Tom Longboat is a multicultural school that draws its strength from over 300 students who share their diverse backgrounds. The Longboat community reflects the values and beliefs that strengthen and enrich Canadian society.

At Tom Longboat, we value strong community partnerships and recognize the importance of working together in a caring environment to ensure that all students develop the skills necessary to become responsible citizens.

Classroom programs and co-curricular activities at Tom Longboat focus on the holistic

development of our students, aimed at meeting their intellectual, emotional, social, and

physical needs. Teachers plan and implement student-centred, quality programs based on research in child development, professional assessments, and the Ontario Curriculum.
