Lambton Park Community School's Mission Statement

Lambton Park Community School has been located in the Scarlett Road and Dundas Street West area for many years. In 1993, the original building was replaced with a beautiful new facility.
Our school serves a diverse population of eager to learn students who demonstrate a keen desire to excel in all areas of learning and to give back to the society.
  • The school offers Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 programs.
  • Lambton Park Child Care Centre is fully integrated with the Kindergarten program, providing a "seamless day" for JK and SK students.
  • The site is used by an Early Years Parenting Centre, our Active Parent Group and many other Community Groups.

Full Service School and more

The Student Support Leadership Initiative team supports our vision for the community use of Lambton Park for the delivery of social, recreational, cultural, justice and other inter-agency services that support the well-being and learning needs of students and their families.
The concept is based on the philosophy that schools need to support children intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically for them to learn at their potential and be successful in life. The concept identifies the school as a focal point to increase student access to integrated, comprehensive services in an spot that is familiar
and typically close to home.

Safe and Caring School

We want all of our students to reach high levels of achievement and to acquire the knowledge, skills and values they need to become responsible members of a democratic society.
For our children to be the best they can be we know they must feel safe in and out of the classroom. Our school-wide focus on safety for all is a lens through which we make all decisions.

Safe and Caring Schools are enabled through:
Strong school leadership, with consistent discipline policies and procedures; School-wide safe and caring schools programs and instructional components focused on inclusive contributions; Evolving and expanded prevention based knowledge and skills; Ongoing support and professional growth in emotional intelligence, conduct management, prevention oriented strategies, mediation and violence prevention; Inclusive and developmentally appropriate materials, activities and programs are championed and utilized; Strong efforts to develop relationships and partnerships with the school community; Clear assessment, evaluation and monitoring of student performance, combined with differentiated programming.

Student Support

We want all of our students to be welcomed, included and supported within our school. Some students with unique strengths and needs (behaviour, communication, intellectual and physical) may require more specialized or intensive programs and supports. Collaboration and problem solving among school staff, parents and students is integral to effective interventions.

Monthly Recognition Assemblies

Awards are presented to students who have demonstrated consistent excellence of our specific character education trait, to children who have demonstrated the learning skill of the month, and we also present Honour Roll certificates following Report Cards. Our winners are presented certificates. This family friendly event also includes a classroom performance.

We embed these themes into everything we do because we know our initiatives:
Develop the whole student;
Contribute to a healthy, safe and orderly school environment;
Create a collaborative school where the teaching and learning can be the focus;
Provide high expectations for learning and behaviour;
Engage students in their learning;
Is Universal;
Is Respectful; and

Student Life - Where You Belong

GO TEAM

Our students are proud to be at Lambton Park. They have told us that they like being at school and love the staff that they work with.

There is a renewed emphasis at our school to offer the co-curricular opportunities the kids deserve here at school. We recognize and value all of our staff who go beyond the basic professional responsibilities of their jobs for our students in many ways.

The staff offer teams in the following sports: Cross-Country Running, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Track & Field.

The school also offers different staff-led clubs including Choral, Leadership, Announcements, Yoga, Dance, Spirit, Junior Librarirans, Knitting, Gardening, Eco-Club, Yearbook, Intra-Murals, Technology, Homework and Boys’ Book Clubs.

Students have the opportunities to lead others and work with others in many ways. Formal leadership roles are available to our older students who participate as Student Ambassadors and take advantage of student leadership opportunities.

We want our students to realize that as a hard-working group we are all part of our school team in and out of the classroom wherever we go.

WHAT SETS US APART

"Lambton Park - Achieving, Believing and Caring... our ABC's" is our school motto.

Our ABC's were adapted from one of our former director's opening messages with the TDSB. To some these words could appear to be rather short and simple. However, to us they set a lofty goal each and every day. We want to live these words in everything we do.

We want every child in the school to achieve to the best of their abilities in whatever they wish to do.
We want every person that works with our children, and the students themselves, to believe in our kids' abilities and to know that the sky is the limit.
And finally, we want everybody who touches our students' lives to genuinely care about the entire child's well-being and to celebrate the successes.

Research shows that an old African proverb is correct. "It takes a village to raise a child." By supporting our staff, our parents and guardians, our community and our students in new and creative ways, we are demonstrating that simply doing what was done in the past is not good enough. Lambton Park is intent on moving forward!
