GO TEAM

While supporting students to achieve their academic potential is our primary focus, students also have a multitude of opportunities to participate in extracurricular and leadership opportunities.

Our Student Leadership Team (S.L.T.) organizes intermediate dances and fundraising.  Most importantly they are ambassadors for our school.  Our Athletic Council provides leadership for our extensive extracurricular and houseleague athletic programs.  Students fundraise in the fall for the Canadian Cancer Society through the Terry Fox Run, and the Daily Bread Food Bank.  In addition, other fundraisers are held throughout the year to support student initiatives and special projects.

PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

At Ellesmere-Statton we welcome community volunteers as assistants in classrooms, our library, and other areas of need.  Our facilities may be used in the evening to provide social and recreational programs to both children and adults: currently we have After School Recreation Programs offered through the Parks and Recreation Department, City of Toronto.  The school is used by OISE/UT Faculty of Education students as a pre-service training site.  As well we offer co-op education placements for local high school and Community College students. Our students additionally benefit from the Toronto Police Services education programs which help to develop positive interaction with the community.   We appreciate parent volunteers in the classrooms, support on field trips, and assistance with coaching.
