In order to support the TDSB's Mission, Cedarbrook staff members strive each day to ensure that all students' needs are being met (academic, social, emotional and physical).
 

 

 

Cedarbrook Public School is a Model Schools for Inner Cities. The TDSB has developed the Model Schools for Inner Cities program to provide students with the tools, resources and opportunities they need to participate fully and equally in schools and their communities.

The Cedarbrook Community

Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students who live between Markham and Bellamy Road and Eglinton and Lawrence Avenue attend Cedarbrook P. S. Cedarbrook offers a Full Day Kindergarten program to Grade 8 as well as an Extended French program for students in grade 4 to 8.

TRIBES and Character Education

Cedarbrook staff use the TRIBES process to help build an inclusive community of learners. Staff and students use the Tribes agreements of mutual respect, attentive listening, the right to pass or participate and appreciation, no put-downs to establish a positive school climate.

At monthly Recognition Assemblies, the staff, students and parents recognize students who demonstrate the TDSB Character Traits.

Student Achievement

At Cedarbrook, the staff is committed to ongoing Professional Development focused on improving instruction and student achievement in Equity, Literacy and Numeracy. 

Co-curricular Activities

At Cedarbrook, students participate in a variety of co-curricular activities such as athletic teams and Student Leadership Council.  Cedarbrook staff members are committed to enhancing student engagement and developing student character traits of responsibility and leadership through co-curricular activities.

Eco School

Students, parents and staff  work together on initiatives that bring awareness to students about the many ways in which they can make a positive difference in their environment and the world in which we all live.  Student leaders are part of the Recycling Team.

Student Life - Where You Belong

GO TEAM

At Cedarbrook, the staff is committed to enhancing student achievement and well-being. Staff professional development continues in the areas of achievement, equity and well-being. Staff members provide students with additional learning opportunities to enhance student engagement and well-being. Some examples are: athletic teams, the arts, Student Leadership Council, and instrumental band. 
Class excursions extend learning outside of the traditional classroom.
Cedarbrook has a nutrition program as well.

The Cedarbrook school community cares!  Staff and parents work closely together to maintain student engagement, achievement and well-being.  Parent involvement in school life is demonstrated through a strong School Advisory Council and volunteers supporting student programs.  Strong and effective relationships and partnerships with parents is a shared belief.
