Emery EdVance Secondary School's Mission Statement

If you are a student between the ages of 18 and 20 and would like to earn high school credits in an adult setting, Emery EdVance Secondary School may be the place for you. Courses are run in quadmesters lasting nine weeks. There is the potential to earn three credits in one quadmester, leading to University, College, apprenticeship, or the workplace. Students can choose to attend for as many quadmesters as they require.

We also offer support to students as they combine work, school, and family commitments, including access to course materials online.

PLAR

In order to earn an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), you must complete 18 compulsory credits and 12 electives for a total of 30 credits.
If you have attended school outside of Canada, worked, raised a family, or have other valuable life skills, you can apply for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR), which is a formal evaluation of your knowledge and skills against the Ontario Curriculum expectations. PLAR can result in you being awarded credits towards your OSSD, allowing you to complete it in less time.
