North East Secondary Alternative School's Mission Statement

Grades: 10-12, Quadmestered

North East Secondary Alternative School (NESAS) is a small community based alternative school that serves students (ages 16-20) who struggle to succeed in the mainstream school system. Our student body is composed of learners with a variety of social/emotional/financial and academic needs. In order to fully help these students achieve their potential, everything about our program from the daily schedule, nutrition program, in and out of school support programs and differentiated course offerings, provide students an opportunity to harness their own strengths as learners and achieve success.

A focus on whole-student education:
Our vision is to build positive relationships, from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, by promoting both academic and social success. As we nurture self-esteem and self-confidence, students develop a fuller understanding of themselves, a deeper awareness of their world and a bolder vision of their future.

Fresh Start in a Small Environment

We want to offer students a fresh start in a smaller high school setting. We make a conscious effort to ensure that the students feel connected with our school on a personal level as well as engaged in the material they are learning in the classroom. Our small setting is ideal for students who cannot find their place in a larger high school or for students who need extra attention and focus to get back on track.
