Three Valleys Public School's Mission Statement

Three Valleys Public School is located in the Don Mills/York Mills community on the north side of Three Valleys Drive at Laurentide. The school is committed to serving 264 students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 and our diverse population is representative of 20 different language groups.
The staff at Three Valleys Public School is proud of the school's caring culture of inclusiveness and respect.  In partnership with the community, we strive to provide students with the appropriate skills and attitude needed to enable them to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

Numeracy

Three Valleys believes that all students can learn math and are committed to raising the numeracy achievement levels of all students regardless of their learning styles. Through three-part math lessons that focus on problem solving and the exploration of big ideas, we believe that students will be better able to think critically about complex issues, solve problems of various kinds and communicate their thinking effectively.  Through the regular use of math manipulatives in all classrooms, teachers work together to share ideas that will support a culture of excellence.

Student Life - Where You Belong

GO TEAM

Participation and inclusion are at the core of the Three Valleys student experience.  Students have many opportunities to participate in extra-curricular activities such as sports, clubs and leadership opportunities.  These varied and valuable experiences promote character building and provide links to the greater community.  Some of our extra-curricular activities include participation in School Teams, Kilometre Club, various House League Sports, Stamp Club and Lego Club.  Outreach to the greater community is demonstrated through charitable initiatives such as our annual "Mitten Tree" sock and mitten drive, Sick Kids toy drive, Jump Rope for Heart, Terry Fox Run, and additional donation drives.  Reading Buddies, Office, Kindergarten and Library Helpers provide opportunities for students to support their peers and build community within the school.  Team work and fair play are intertwined in all aspects of student life.  At Three Valleys, smiles come naturally.

WHAT SETS US APART

Three Valleys P.S. can be considered unique for a number of reasons. Not only do we take pride in our academic achievement, but we believe that we have built a school culture that is warm, inviting and inclusive of everyone.  Staff members bring a variety of unique talents and interests to the school experience (e.g., physical education, fine arts and technology).  This provides an environment for diverse student talent to be recognized and celebrated (e.g., Holiday Concert, Talent Show and Folk Dance).  As well, opportunities for community collaboration to increase leadership potential of students at Three Valleys are warmly received and often implemented.  Yearly, students actively participate in donating food, toys and mittens for local families through partnering with the North York Harvest Food Bank and Sick Kids Hospital.  Student participation builds community awareness and social responsibility that will last beyond their years at Three Valleys.

PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

The Three Valleys Community School Association (TVCSA) play an essential part to the success of many Three Valleys initiatives. At Three Valleys, parental support is evident in all areas of school life. The TVCSA has become known for the annual "Fun Fair" that they have been organizing for 22 years! They also support events such as the  Family Movie Night, Holiday Gift Shop and Special Lunch Days. We also have many volunteers within our own community who work in classrooms, run weekly clubs and assist in our school library.  We continue to maintain close ties with our neighbouring church and regularly work with our Community School Liaison Officer to foster awareness around issues of safe schools.  The students and staff at Three Valleys are very fortunate to have such strong parental and community involvement and support in so many diverse areas.
