Oakdale Park Middle School's Mission Statement

Oakdale Park Middle School is a large school of 420 students in an urban setting, serving Grade 6, 7 and 8 students. It is located  in the North  West area of Toronto. About 30% of our students are of Caribbean heritage, about 30% are of Southeast Asian descent, and about 15% of our students are of South American descent. The remaining 25% of the students come from almost every other part of the globe.

  •  We provide many opportunities for student leadership including Student Government, Boys to Men, and Peer Mediation.

We are designated as a TDSB Full Service School. We work with various community agencies and organizations to optimize resources for students' learning, character development and to ensure students' well-being. These agencies and organizations include SEEDS (Supporting Education Empowerment and Development), Inner City Outreach, Regent Park School of Music, Toronto Public Health, St. Stephen's House, SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health and the Hammer Band.  Oakdale Park Middle School is an inner-city model school.

What Our School is Planning For This Year

The Oakdale Park staff is committed to delivering a program that effetively meets the needs of all our students. We strive for high levels of student achievement.

Some of the initiatives planned for this year are: Staff professional learning (PLCs in Math and Language), EQAO Parent Information Night, Grades 5 & 8 Parent Information Night, Student Mentorship Programs, Social Skills and Character Development.

Oakdale Park Middle School is committed to developing students' personality as a whole. This is achieved through instructional, co-curricular and leadership development programs. Some of the leadership programs are: Game Changers (Peer Mediation), Boys 2 Men and Girls 2 Women.

Oakdale Park Middle School is also committed to provide a variety of Special Education Programs and Services to meet the needs of all students including students with exceptionalities such as behavioural, communication, intellectual, physical, and multiple learning disablities. Students' exceptionalities are identified through a formal review process undertaken by an Identification, Placement and Review Committee.
