GO TEAM

School is about students. When students are involved, they are more likely to love school. Our students are actively involved in a variety of ways. They are actively involved in a variety of sporting events.  Our students are actively engaged in the Environment Club that looks to build awareness and positive action on the part of students, staff and the community. Gulfstream students enjoy leadership opportunities through a variety of clubs offered.  Students enjoy marvelous experiences in our music program.  Our students in grades 5-8 have opportunities to demonstrate leadership by supporting our lunchroom supervisors in the classroom, working in the office, providing audio and visual technical support and reading morning announcements. Older students are encouraged to support younger students through reading buddies and assisting teachers in the classroom. Monthly assemblies allow for a variety of student presentations as well as special events such as our twice yearly concerts/performances and our talent show. Students are encouraged to become Right to Play leaders and participants.

WHAT SETS US APART

Gulfstream Public School is a unique school that is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of busy Weston Road.  We have a beautiful, bright, clean building and school grounds that are well respected by our students, staff and community.  Many of our parents were once students of Gulfstream and are very proud of the achievements of their children.  We collaborate with Hincks-Dellcrest, Variety Village, Woodview Public Library, Parks and Recreation Program Services(Carmelo Stefano Community Centre), and our Public Health Nurse.   Gulfstream Child Care Centre is an integral part of a blended day for our students.

PARENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Parents are a welcome part of our school day.  We encourage our parents to be actively involved in their child's learning and in the daily events of our school day.  They are encouraged to become active members of our School Advisory Council.  Our parent volunteers may assist in the special lunch programs, on field trips and are always invited to our school assemblies.   Parents are invited to participate in classroom programs to support staff and students in achieving their goals.
