Focus on Literacy

We are committed to building a solid language foundation for all of our students, many of whom are newcomers to Canada.  We recognize that it often takes five to seven years for a student to become academically proficient in a second language.  We use a variety of strategies and supports to develop literacy in all its forms.

Thorncliffe Park P.S. is a very big school, but it is a peaceful, safe place with friendly people from all over the world.  We have lots of clubs, sports, activities, helpful ambassadors, a Breakfast Club and two of the best climbers in our playground.  It's a great place to gather! ~ Mohammed (5A)

Our school is  multicultural and this means that you can have friends from all around the world.  There are so many kids to play with at recess.  There is no way to get bored at Thorncliffe Park as there are millions of different things to do. ~ Aisha (5E)
