Masters of Math, Science and Technology Program
Our specialized program is designed for students who excel in these subject areas. You will experience enriched learning in each of the disciplines and have the opportunity to apply your learning to tasks that integrate these three subjects. Students in grades 9, 10 & 11 travel as a class and then may join the regular course of study in grade 12. With the "reach ahead" component, Grade 10 students take Grade 11 Biology in Semester 2. Championship Sports and Athletics Program
With a rich history of athletics at Runnymede, we have led in many team accomplishments along with developing many individuals to further their academic and athletics careers.
We take pride in our athletics! With approximately 20 teams every year, over 100 students, coaches, managers and athletic council members work to ensure that the Runnymede athletic experience is second to none in the TDSB. The goal for all teams is to compete at the highest possible level, with respect and dignity. Teams and individuals at Runnymede have won many regional championships, district championships, and competed in many OFSAA Provincial Championships.
Award Winning FIRST Robotics Team
FIRST Robotics (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an extra curricular program where students design and build a robot within a set period of time to compete at two regional competitions. Grade 9 Transition Program
To help make the transition to grade 9 as smooth as possible for our students, we have a number of activities in place. Our "Moving On Up" program held the week before school starts is a chance to participate in workshops that will help students become familiar with new routines, meet their peers and student leaders and develop skills for success as they begin high school.
School Uniform Policy in Place
Our students wear a school uniform. Not only does this enhance school safety and promote equity but it helps students feel a sense of pride and belonging in their school. Students and parents like the uniform because it eliminates the time spent deciding what to wear each day leaving more time to focus on the important task of learning.
Runnymede's Wall of Fame
A project initiated for the school's 75th anniversary, the wall of fame celebrates, in text and photographs, the exceptional contributions and accomplishments of outstanding graduates who have distinguished themselves as scholars, athletes, actors, entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders in their chosen fields. Each year a former graduate is inducted at Commencement.
