Eastern, a collegiate with a Business and Technology focus, is located in a quiet tree-lined pocket of the city close to Donlands Subway and accessible from all parts of Toronto. Eastern prides itself on serving a diverse, multicultural population with special programming for our English as a Second Language population and a selection of courses for students with Special Education needs.

School Uniform and Code of Conduct

Eastern students are required to wear a uniform top. All of the uniform tops are sold directly at the school, and come in the school's colours: red, black or white. The Code of Conduct speaks to our core value of providing a learning environment that is safe, caring, nurturing, positive and respectful.

Late Start and Universal Breakfast

ECCI is the TDSB's only Late Start school which is scientifically supported to provide an optimum accommodation for the sleep and study needs particularly required by teenagers. Complimenting this is the breakfast program: each day all students receive a rotating menu of 3 nutritious food groups at no cost to the students. Combined, Eastern students are better rested, better nourished, and more ready than ever to perform at their very best.

Student Leadership Programs

In keeping with the school's motto "go forth to serve," leadership is developed at all grade levels. The Student Senate supports programs for school-wide enrichment; the Eastern Ambassadors are developed to represent the school in various community functions; and, the Future Leaders is a mentorship program facilitating the growth of junior students.

Technology

Eastern supports all its academic programs by a wide and growing technological infrastructure. Extensive library resources are complimented by state of the art computer labs. All departments have access to Smart Board technology and the Clicker/Mobi system. In addition, TI Handheld Computers were first brought to ECCI and Wireless Routers are also now in place.

Athletics

Saints' Basketball is unparalled: OFSSA repeat gold medallists 98% of our athletes move on to post-secondary studies, some on full scholarship.We also boast: cricket, soccer, volleyball, baseball, track and recently badminton and football. All students now have access to a first class training facility: named among the 10 Best Schools by Toronto Life Magazine.
