Critical Pathways

We are currently working collaboratively in professional learning teams on Teacher Learning Critical Pathways. Our teams work together to clarify intended outcomes, develop common assessments and jointly analyze student achievement data. We share strategies and materials and engage in collective action research regarding student learning.

West Prep Children's Centre

The West Prep Children's Centre that operates year-round is a non-profit, parent-organized child care centre that provides programs for Pre-School, Kindergarten, and school-age children.

Toronto Schools On The Move (TSM)

At West Preparatory Junior Public School we have joined TSM to promote healthy living. We have increased our involvement in athletics through our participation in TDESSA sports. We have an annual Family Fitness Night to promote healthy living. We have also increased our opportunities with "Explore After 4" activities run by our School Council .

Enriched Arts Program

We have an enriched arts program that focuses on music, dance and drama. The students have the opportunity to participate in choir and ORFF in the primary grades. In the junior grades, students have the opportunity to participate in choir, ORFF, recorder, band, strings, flute ensemble or the junior vocal program. Read more about Enriched Arts Program

Active School Council

West Preparatory has an active School Council that meets regularly throughout the school year. The School Council provides input and  feedback on various issues throughout the school year. The School Council organizes various activities throughout the school year such as pizza lunch, sub lunch, movierama, bingo night and fun fair.

Technology

At West Preparatory we are advancing our use of technology in the classroom. We have a computer lab, SMART board and numerous interactive lcd projectors. Our current goal is to work on pod-casts for our web-site which we would use to update our parents and the community on current events around the school.
