Walter Perry Junior Public School, is located in the Scarborough Junction community on Falmouth Avenue south of Eglinton. The school first opened in 1954. The school is named after a prominent community leader William Walter Perry. At Walter Perry, we work together to make our school "a great place to be!"

Walter Perry is a diverse school with students from many, many cultures working extremely well to create a safe, caring and supportive learning environment. Staff and students work very hard at creating the type of learning environment that promotes success for your child. We want the school to be a place where your child can walk in, relax, feel safe and focus on learning and achieving their full potential. We have high academic and behavioural expectations and we expect your support. It takes the child, the parent and the school, to work together to ensure student success. Student Nutrition = Student Learning
Students need to eat a healthy breakfast before school and maintain proper nutrition throughout the day. A well fed student is a student ready to learn. To this end Walter Perry runs both a morning breakfast club and a morning snack program. All students are eligible and a small donation is requested but not required as the program is subsidized.
We are happy to say that every child in the school participates in the snack program and we serve breakfast to about 30-40 students each day.

Student Support
Walter Perry services a wide variety of student needs. We have a strong Reading Recovery and ESL program. We have a primary and a junior home school class in addition to a junior ISP- behaviour program. On top of that our staff continue to learn about and implement strategies designed to reach as many students as possible.
Technology
Walter Perry continues to develop its computer lab, we now have 28 computers in our lab as well as computers in all classrooms. We have upgraded our wireless portable Lap Top lab, it has twelve computers available for any class room teacher who wishes to use them to support their program. Activities
Student success comes in more ways than only academics. Athletic, social emotional, interpersonal success is very important in creating a well rounded student. Water Perry students have many extra curricular choices available to them. Morning sports, house league, team sports, clubs, art, music, crafts, chess, choir, band- the list goes on and on -get involved and enjoy.
Home - School Communication
This is an essential part of student success. The more parents know about what their children are doing at school, the more they can support both them and the school to ensure work and assignments are promptly and accurately completed.
