Special Series Visual & Media Arts
Our intensive four-year conservatory program is designed to lead you to careers in visual and media arts. While you earn your high school diploma, you will complete 12 art credits. We help you prepare your portfolio for interviews for college or university fine arts programs. We give you the creative freedom to make your mark. Alumni are represented in galleries across the world, and in diverse careers in art and design. We deliver an interdisciplinary performance-based program at the professional level. We offer two unique auditioned streams: music theatre and drama focus, each consisting of two credits per year, designed to prepare students for college or university entrance and a performing arts career. Our students and alumni appear in dinner theatre, major musicals, films and television productions. They grace the stage at Shaw Festival and at theatres across Canada. The Wexford Art Centre has large studios equipped for each discipline, including a dark room, a film editing suite, and a two-story sculpture studio. Performing arts students learn in dedicated spaces as well: dance and drama studios, music room, theatre auditorium, a new black box rehearsal space, and a state of the art scene shop for set design and construction
Training and Programs
The Visual and Media Arts program includes various disciplines. 'Harrys' are offered every spring for outstanding work in film and our students' work is showcased in the Great Masters Art Show.
The Performing Arts Drama Focus and Music Theatre programs give students the opportunity to put on various productions throughout the school year.Read more about Training and Programs
We are large enough to offer a wide variety of options and small enough to know and support each student. Students with physical disabilities are welcome in our barrier-free facilities.Our special programs and our student services work with students who need additional support in any academic field, offering career, educational, and personal counselling.

Efforts, like the cross curricular literacy committee, support success for all students. Achievements in school-based projects, such as in math competitions and international business awards, to the strong academic showing by students in the visual and performing arts programs, and in the scholarships and placements at colleges and universities are extraordinary.
