Lester Bowles "Mike" Pearson (1897 - 1972) was a Canadian professor, historian, civil servant, statesman, diplomat, and politician, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1957 for organizing the United Nations Emergency Force to resolve the Suez Canal Crisis. He was the 14th Prime Minister of Canada (1963 - 1968) as the head of two back-to-back minority governments following elections in 1963 and 1965.

Lester B. Pearson C.I. is a full service school in a multicultural neighbourhood with students coming from 56 different countries, speaking 42 languages, and practicing 17 different religions. We promote appreciation of diversity as inspired by our motto, "Peace through Understanding", taken from the 1957 Nobel Peace Prize speech by our former Prime Minister, Lester B. Pearson. The Health and Wellness Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) allows students to acquire technical knowledge and skills that will assist them in entering a future career of their choice. Pearson students will receive recognition on their high school diploma and a set of industry-recognized certification. This program is recognized by colleges, universities, and employers, giving our students a head start in life.

The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) allows students to earn trade apprenticeship hours in their chosen field while earning Co-op credits at the same time.

Pearson is partnered with several colleges in Toronto to offer college courses absolutely free. Upon successful completion of the course, you can receive two high school credits and one college credit.

The Peer Tutor program pairs students with a peer tutor trained through 'Licence to Learn'.  
Pearson features a variety of Student Success initiatives including the Language Lab, Focus on Success program, Continuous Intake Co-op, and Credit Recovery.  
The STYLES after school homework club and Malvern Family Resource Centre offer support for our students at our school.
