Believe to Achieve!

Reopened since 1984,  Lamberton Public School offers many exciting programs to meet the needs of all of our students!  Our community includes the area surrounding our school, the Sentinel/Fountainhead area, and York University. We presently accommodate a total of 325 students from Kgn. to Grade 5. We represent 30 different language groups, with approx. 74% of our families speaking English as a second language at home. We are very proud of our school's rich cultural heritage.
In our endeavour to meet curriculum expectations, we continue to develop a positive learning environment where academic success is the norm. Parents are encouraged to become full partners, and teachers regularly seek to improve their practice.

EQAO success

At Lamberton, we continue to immerse our students in a balanced literacy program where teacher modelling, reading groups and celebration of print are the focus. We have a special focus on Writing and our staff has fully implemented the Lucy Calkins Writing Program.
Mathematics also continues to be a strong focus for our school. Staff work closely together, and plan in teams, to address the needs of all of our students.  Overall, we will focus on improving communication and problem-solving to increase our EQAO Math results.

Morning Meal Program

Lamberton has a daily, Morning Meal program.  Each day, students are offered a well-balanced snack to set them up for the day!  All students are offered a combination of fruit, vegetables and/or dairy products, delivered to their classrooms. We respect the dietary restrictions of all of our students.  We believe that we need to meet the needs of the whole child.
Assemblies Photo

Assemblies

At Lamberton, we hold monthly assemblies to recognize and celebrate those students who have modelled the T.D.S.B.'s monthly character traits.  The principal leads the assembly with the help of our "Super 5's", a group of Grade 5 students who are aspiring to leadership within the school.  Teachers introduce those students from their classrooms who best exemplify the traits.
