Education for All
We want every child to be successful and to be inspired to be a lifelong learner. We offer a wide range of learning opportunities that enrich and broaden our students' experiences in literacy and throughout the curriculum areas. Some of these include English Language Learner programs, Special Education and remedial programs, Reading Recovery, tutoring, extra-curricular programs and arts based programs.Our motto is "At Driftwood teachers make a difference".
Model School for Inner Cities
This is our sixth year as a Cluster school involved in TDSB's Model Inner City Schools (MICS). As part of this program our students, parents and staff benefit from increased opportunities such as additional programs, trips, and resources. The essential components of MICS are: innovative teaching and learning practices; supportive services to meet the social emotional and physical well being of students; school as the heart of the the community; research, review and evaluation of students and programs; and commitment to share successful practices. Our Focus
Our goal is to improve delivery of Literacy and Numeracy by:
-integrating literacy across the curriculum
-examining and reflecting on teaching and learning

Safe and Caring Climate
Driftwood's Code of Conduct (Soar to Success) outlines expectations for students, parents, and staff to work together to promote respect. Students are expected to come to school regularly, on time, and be prepared to learn. Driftwood students must wear a school uniform. Read more about Safe and Caring Climate
Parent and Family Literacy Centre
The school boasts an active Parenting and Family Literacy Centre. Parents, caregivers and children from babies to 6 years old are invited to attend. The Centre is part of our school and offers fun programs that help children get ready for school. You will also learn about the school and meet other parents and caregivers. The program is free. New to Canada
Driftwood PS has a Settlement Worker. The role of the Settlement Worker is to help newcomer students and their families settle in their school and community. Settlement services offer different supports including employment, housing, English lanuage classes, health service and much more. Service is available in many languages. Read more about New to Canada
