Our library is staffed by a qualified teacher-librarian working with our students and staff to build on the curriculum being taught in the classroom.
Academic assistance for our second language learners is provided through English As a Second Language (ESL) self-contained and integrated classes.
Additional student support
We have teachers who are subject specialists delivering a variety of subjects.
Bayview is lucky enough to have in-class, small group and individual counselling made available by a teacher-counsellor.
Support for our new Canadian families is provided in Cantonese, Dari, Farsi, Korean and Mandarin through the Settlement and Education Partnership (SEPT).
Character Development that infuses into the curriculum and practices the ten TDSB identified character attributes.
We offer a range of exciting co-curricular clubs, teams and intra-mural sports, as well as a vibrant Performing Arts Series that includes drama, dance and music.
Here at Bayview we continue to focus a lot of our efforts on Character Education. Our grade 6 and 7 students wrote some acrostic poems at their first assembly of the year, describing what Respect, Responsibility and Empathy mean to them. Please see below for some examples of their work!
Respect each other
Everyone can live together
Put yourself in others’ shoes
Make others feel good
Anyone can have empathy!
You have to think about others’ feelings
Realizing your faults
Earning other people’s trust
Saying sorry for mistakes
Proving yourself worthy
Sticking to your promises
In control of yourself
Look out for others
Everybody deserves to be treated the same
