Eco Schools: Taking Care of the Environment
We are proud to be a TDSB Gold Level Eco School. Our Eco program addresses how we can reuse, reduce and recycle and contribute positively to protect our environment. Students take part in education about the environment, waste management, reducing energy consumption and community clean-ups. We are working to achieve recognition as a Platinum level eco-school.
DECA-Developing Excellence Celebrating Achievement
DECA is an international association of high school students studying business. DECA enhances the classroom learning through conferences and competitions by giving students hands-on experience in the fields of business, marketing and entrepreneurship working to develop high school students into character-driven leaders. Scarlett is an award winning DECA school.
Co-operative Education
Scarlett students have the option of taking a one, two or four credit Co-op Program providing opportunities to assist students in making the career choices and connections through real world experiences. Co-op is mandatory for students in the Specialist High Skills Major accreditation. Students in all pathways are encouraged to participate in the Co-op program.
Leadership
At Scarlett Heights, we empower our students by imparting the qualities associated with leadership through social responsibility initiatives. Students participate in school and community-based projects with local, national and international scope. Our students participate in exchanges within Canada and internationally such as trips to the Arctic, Mexico, and Ecuador.
