Etobicoke Collegiate Institute (ECI) was founded in 1928 on the principles of high academic standards. As a full service secondary school we strive to reach the needs of individual students to prepare them for post- secondary success. Student Leadership Program
Leadership development is important at ECI. Join the program and take part in exciting leadership camps at every grade level. If you are in Grade 8 and plan to come to ECI next year, you can take part in a weekend camp run by senior student leaders where you will make new friends and learn what it is like to be part of a dynamic and supportive high school. Our Grade 9 camp is for student leaders who have demonstrated strong leadership skills during the year. In Grade 10, all students travel to Camp White Pine for a week of skills development and friendship building with 100 student leaders from Grades 11 and 12. Read more about Student Leadership Program
Dental Assistant Professional Program
ECI's Dental Assistant Professional Program is truly one of a kind. It is the only dental assisting program in all of TDSB. During this two year program, you will learn everything you need to prepare for the professional certification exams that you will take at the end of your program. Technology Department
We offer many courses in the technology department. Many of our students have a keen interest in this growing field and have chosen to continue on after they have graduated. Cooperative Education
We have a dynamic and thriving cooperative education program where students at the grade 11 and 12 levels are given the opportunity to obtain two or four credits by working in their community. Arts Program
Music, Art and Drama are a big part of ECI's curricular and extra-curricular program. Strings, instrumental and vocal courses are offered from grades 9 to 12. Music combines with Drama to produce an amazing Musical each year. Photography, animation and visual arts opportunities are available at all levels and develop creative initiatives.
