Bloordale Middle School, founded in 1960, is nestled geographically in the middle of four feeder schools. The benefit of receiving students from four feeder schools is that it enables students to build new friendships and further develop relationships with peers prior to attending high school.

Student Population

The current population of Bloordale Middle School is approximately 400 students. The Grades 6, 7, and 8 students who attend this school represent diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. In addition to our regular classrooms, Bloordale Middle School also offers a LEAP program, an HSP program, an ELL program and two self-contained Special Education classes with our DD class and our LD class.

Middle School Experience

Middle School provides students with the opportunity to participate in experiences similar to those in high school through rotary subjects, the use of lockers, student council, team sports, instrumental music programs, etc., while also maintaining a strong personal relationship with their core teachers.

School's Motto

The school's motto, "A Place Where Everyone Knows Your Name," reinforces Bloordale Middle School's commitment and dedication to developing and sustaining a respectful environment that ensures that all of our learners achieve a high level of academic achievement as determined by our provincial standards. Collapsed Week

Using smaller teacher-pupil ratios, this week is committed to providing each student with the opportunity to receive support to consolidate or extend their knowledge based on the expectations of the term.  Through a variety of innovative and differentiated instruction methods, teachers are able to move students towards a better understanding of the viable curriculum.

Me to We

This program teaches students to not only receive, but to give back as well. Me to We enables the students to represent their school and global causes.  It is our hope that the students' participation in this social justice group will encourage them to continue to make positive contributions to others throughout their lives.

Character Education

The character education program at Bloordale is very unique.  Unlike most schools, this program is integrated into the regular schedule with all classes receiving instruction and opportunities to further explore and discuss the TDSB's character attributes.  Read more about Character Education
