D.A. Morrison combines fifty years as a traditional neighbourhood school with a strong commitment to change, new technologies and a sound education for all learners. The staff and students of D.A. Our Code of Conduct uses the letters in Rocks to set standards for behaviour that are consistent throughout the school and that promote a caring and safe school environment.

LITERACY GOALS
Explicit instruction reflective of inquiry-based learning is consistent throughout the school. Our teachers are using high yield strategies to help all of our students achieve at grade level and beyond. We use and share reading strategies and tools to promote critical thinking connected to concepts and "big ideas". Social action is an essential focus of student learning.
MATH GOALS
Our teachers continue to work with our Math Coach on the 3 part lesson in math. This problem solving approach will reinforce critical thinking and cooperative learning as our students, investigate, explore and discover unique solutions to math problems. Our student will once again be involved in Provincial math competitions.
PATHWAYS GOALS
We have established a professional learning community that reflects common goals, common practices and a common focus on social action to bring our school community together. Teachers are regularly sharing best teaching practices in order to share their expertise and develop consistency throughout the school.
COMMUNITY, CULTURE AND CARING
We have created a school website to increase communication. We also publish bi-monthly newsletters.We have established a Parent and Student Engagement PLT, increasing opportunities for our families to join us as we celebrate students' achievements. Our Code of Conduct, ensures that our students are learning in a safe environment that values their opinions and ideas.
