Secord School is located in the Main and Danforth area on the east side of Barrington Avenue at Secord Avenue. The school first opened in November of 1915. Our current facility was built 35 years ago. It has undergone many changes, the latest being in 1995 to increase our permanent space by fourteen classrooms.
Secord Public School offers programs from Kindergarten to Grade Five. Our specialized classes include four special education classes, as well as the Child Development Institute's (formerly the CRECHE) kindergarten program housed in the school.

A school age "Y" Daycare is housed in the Community Centre attached to the school. We house a preschool and kindergarten daycare called "Annie's Place" and a Parenting Centre.
Diversity at Secord School
Secord school serves about 650 students representing a very diverse ethnocultural and multilingual population. Approximately 30% of our students speak English as a second language. Our SEPT worker (Settlement Education Partnerships Toronto) and CSY (Community Support Worker) visit the school on a regular basis to meet with parents.
