EQAO Grade 10 Literacy Results 2005 -2006
Background
The EQAO Ontario Secondary School Literacy Assessment
(OSSLT) provides important information about our students’ literacy
skills. Literacy is defined as having the reading and writing skills
required to understand reading selections and to communicate through
writing. The test measures how well students have met the provincial
expectations in The Ontario Curriculum in all subjects up to the end
of Grade 9. In March 2006, 19,994 TDSB Grade 10 students were eligible
to take the OSSLT for the first time. Of these students, 17,667 fully
participated in the OSSLT (the other eligible students were deferred
until a later date, or they were absent during one or both days of
the test).
