Connecting Newcomer Youth with Community at Volunteer Fair

TDSB Newcomer Services for Youth in Scarborough held a Volunteer Fair on July 12 to give young people a chance to meet with community organizations and discuss volunteer and employment opportunities.

Newcomer Services for Youth offers a friendly environment where students and youth can obtain information about settlement, integrating into the educational system, mentorship and job searching in Canada. The program is operated by the TDSB Contracted Services and Partnership Development Department and funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

With two locations — 31 Tapscott Road in Scarborough and 3424 Weston Road in North York — Newcomer Services for Youth host numerous youth-focused events throughout the year including job fairs, recruiting events, career fairs, employment skills workshops, after-school supports, social and cultural events and more.
