Next Steps Employment Centres connect community with employers at successful Job Fair

Next Steps Employment Centre Riverdale staff outside their centre at 997 Gerrard St. E. in Toronto.On June 15, the TDSB’s Next Steps Employment Centre in Riverdale held a Community Job Fair at the S. Walter Stewart Library. MGR Construction Services, Apotex Advancing Generics, Paragon Security, VHA Home HealthCare, Stock and Soup Nutsy were among employers exhibiting at the fair. This event gave 184 job seekers the chance to meet employers face to face to talk about various job categories such as Personal Support Workers, Customer Service Representatives, General Skilled Labourers, Food Handlers, Security Officers, School Bus Drivers and many more.

All seven Next Steps Employment Centres host job fairs, employment related events, on-site interviews, workshops, and much more throughout the year. Operated by the TDSB’s Contracted Services and Partnership Development Department, and funded by Employment Ontario, job seekers are provided access to a full range of employment services and support at any one of seven locations in Toronto, Mississauga and York Region.
