Celebrating Education Week - Equity for all at TDSB!

Do you know a teacher or TDSB staff member working hard to provide equitable and inclusive lessons and curriculum for students? How about a student advocating for positive change in a school community or classroom? If so, you're encouraged to celebrate that outstanding staff, student or program as an EDUCATION WEEK CHAMPION in your community!

Education Week is an annual event celebrated by school boards and schools across the province. It is a time for students, teachers, staff and parents to celebrate excellence in school communities, along with student achievement. It also provides an excellent opportunity for the TDSB to highlight the outstanding work of our students and staff!

The Toronto District School Board is celebrating Education Week from May 7 to May 11, 2012 with a theme of Equity for All at TDSB!

From morning breakfast programs at many of our schools that give students the energy, concentration and nutrition they need to succeed to innovative mental health awareness programs like Stop the Stigma and The Jack Project, our schools are doing all they can to ensure each and every student reaches their full potential.

At the TDSB, we are always looking for effective ways to reach and teach every one of our students. Innovative programs like our Alternative Schools, CyberArts and the Elementary Academies are great examples. Our goal is simple –  to create innovative programming that excites students to come to class every single day.

Staff, students, parents, and community members are invited to celebrate, in their own school community, a school, student  or staff member as an Education Week Champion.
