TDSB's Enhanced Language Training Program Hosts Seminar for Newcomers

The TDSB's Enhanced Language Training (ELT) Program recently hosted a free seminar for newcomers at the North York Civic Centre.

Attendees arrived in the morning and took part in a networking activity where they were given the opportunity to meet with other newcomers and discuss their experiences.

Speaker Nick Noorani took to the stage in the morning to present his 7 Secrets for Canadian Immigrants’ Success. Noorani is the founding publisher of Canadian Immigrant magazine and bestselling author of Arrival Survival Canada. He shared his own experiences and knowledge of positive thinking, talked about embracing Canada as their new home and offered up tips on creating opportunities through risk-taking and community participation by stepping up to success.

Enhanced Language Training (ELT) is a 14-week labour market access program which includes 8-weeks of in-class training followed by a 6-week work placement.
