Thanks to their hard work and dedication, the TDSB’s Enhanced Language Training Program (ELT) has received the 2012 Volunteer of the Year Award from Canadian Feed the Children (CFTC).

The ELT program, funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, works with employers and Canadian settlement agencies to help newcomers overcome barriers to employment and access settlement services within Canada.

The 2012 Volunteer of the Year Award honours the contributions of outstanding volunteers who have shown an exceptional commitment to CFTC’s mission, vision and values. ELT program participants who volunteered with Canadian Feed the Children throughout the past three years demonstrated this commitment to CFTC and continuously went above and beyond the expectations of their role.
