May 14 is PSSP Day

Today is Professional Student Support Personnel (PSSP) Day at the Toronto District School Board. On this day we recognize the valuable contribution that PSSP make in our schools each and every day. Every year, PSSP support over 20,000 TDSB students and help them achieve success in their personal and academic lives.

PSSP include ABA Facilitators (autism team), Attendance Counsellors, Psychological Services, Child and Youth Counsellors, Child and Youth Workers, Educational Audiologists, Focused Intervention Coordinators - Mental Health & Wellbeing, Social Workers, Speech and Language Pathologists, Student Equity Program Advisors, Multilingual Team Leaders, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, and Gender-Based Violence Prevention Coordinators.

The Second Annual PSSP Student & Staff Awards Gala is taking place tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Bloor CI. At the event, the achievements of students and the PSSP staff who support them will be celebrated. This year’s emcees are Mathew Ho and Asad Muhammad, the two TDSB students who created the Lego Man in Space earlier this year.
