York Mills CI’s Café for a Cause raises $3,000 to help TDSB students

On Dec. 2, York Mills CI students hosted a fundraising event called Café for A Cause, raising $3,000!

Students were inspired by a visit from a young woman who shared the challenge she faced living in poverty. She also spoke about how she overcame her struggles with support from her school.  The presentation moved the students so much, they decided to direct all the funds raised to the TDSB’s Hope In Action Emergency Fund. The students in Ms. Persaud’s business class learned they could become the difference between success and failure for many students across our city.

The students put their hearts and souls into the event.  Everything was first class, from the crisp white tablecloths and fabulous student-cooked entrées to the exceptional service and great entertainment.

Café for a Cause is the first student-led initiative to raise funds for the new Hope In Action Emergency Fund.  The Toronto Foundation for Student Success wishes to thank each and every one of them.
