Dreams Take Flight for
Chester Le Students |
On May 9, Chester Le Junior Public School students Cassidy and Thomas enjoyed a full day at Magic Kingdom. The magic began at sunrise at the hangar, where the grade 4 and 6 siblings were greeted by celebrities, musicians, dancers, and costumed characters before their send-off on two giant planes, Mickey and Minnie, equipped with doctors who volunteered their services for this special trip. Dreams Take Flight is a non-profit Charity that provides the trip-of-a-lifetime to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida for very special children. For the past 22 years over 20,000 children across Canada have benefitted from the volunteer-run organization that was founded by Air Canada employees. Cassidy and Thomas were thrilled when two weeks ago Air Canada representatives came to school and announced to students and their families the names of the lucky students.
In the Magic Kingdom, the children headed off in search of fun and were provided with clothing, shoes, backpacks, cameras, and money to spend at Disney World. The euphoric day allowed Cassidy and Thomas to go on exciting rides, see breathtaking shows, all their favourite Disney characters, enjoy yummy treats and make new friends. Their magical day was finished off by fireworks that lit up the sky! Afterwards, the tired but happy children made their way to the airport to catch their flight back to Toronto to rejoin their family and friends and shared their magical journey.
