 Success Stories

Francois is a French native speaker who came to Canada from France in 1999 as a permanent resident. Prior to settling in Canada, he was working in the international development field and was very lucky to find a job in this field, working for a couple of Canadian International non-governmental organizations. In October 2006, he decided to step back from his international development work in order to care for his children’s education and started looking for job within community organizations. Francois first came to SCEA, after seeing a flyer posted in another centre. He noticed that SCEA was very close to where he lives, so he dropped in the next day, registered, started using the resources, and receiving help from SCEA’s supportive staff. He spent approximately 5 hours daily using the resources at SCEA to job search and was successful in securing a position as Director of Programs at a community based organization. Extremely excited, Francois came to SCEA to let us know he got a job and to thank all staff for all their help in his search for employment.
