The Newcomer Opportunities for Work (NOW) program offers a 3-week comprehensive group of workshops and job development support to newcomers, immigrants and convention refugees.

Eligibility

  • Unemployed newcomers to Canada
  • Foreign-educated and trained individuals
  • Immigrants and Convention Refugees, legally entitled to work in Canada

What we offer

A 3-week Comprehensive Job Search Workshop followed by Job Development Support. The following are the workshops offered in the three week program:

  • Professional Resume Preparation and Writing Effective Cover Letters
  • Completing Winning On-line Application Forms
  • Providing References
  • Interview Preparation
  • Behavioral Interviewing
  • Proper Employer Follow-Up
  • Personality Dimensions
  • Toronto Reference Library Tour

Resources

  • Free access to telephones, Job Search Directories, Computers, printers, photocopier and fax machines.
