The Go Green: Climate Change Action Plan was approved by the TDSB's Board of Trustees at its meeting on February 3, 2010.

At its most fundamental level, the ten actions outlined in the plan are the TDSB's response to the question: If climate change is one of the greatest challenges of the 21st century, what does that mean for us?

If its promise is fulfilled, the plan will further transform Toronto public schools.

Go Green builds upon ten years of work that has already been done to establish the TDSB as Canada's greenest school board. See Appendix B for a summary of what the Board has already accomplished – from the creation and implementation of its awardwinning EcoSchools program to the design and construction of high performance green school buildings.

The plan does not highlight what is working well at the Board. For example, very little is said about EcoSchools or our new LEED-certified green schools. Instead, this report focuses on actions that will facilitate the greatest improvements from this point forward. We are striving to pay attention to where changes are needed most urgently.
