Nutrition Programs
| Student nutrition program nurture the health and well-being of our students. Together, we can help develop healthy eating habits in children that will last a lifetime. We recognize the direct relationship between healthy nutrition and the academic achievement of our students. Healthy food is necessary for each student’s physical, emotional, intellectual and social development. Well nourished children are ready and able to learn in the classroom. We work with community partners, including the Toronto Foundation for Student Success, to ensure that our students have equal access to high quality, school-based nutrition programs. Our breakfast, lunch and snack programs support all students, regardless of financial capacity, from Kindergarten to Grade 12. One of our key partners though, is parents. We encourage parents to get involved and help introduce nutrition programs into their child’s school. Getting started is easy. The TDSB Student Nutrition Handbook has everything required to get a program going and we’re here to help. To start, take a look at the Student Nutrition Handbook or call one of our team members. |
