Full Service Schools

Every decision the TDSB makes must help our students do well in school. With that in mind, we developed our Vision of Hope ─ a guide to prepare the TDSB and our students for the future. Full service schools are becoming an important part of that future.

We know our students can’t succeed if they aren’t healthy, happy and safe. In full service schools we partner with other organizations and agencies who offer specialized education, health and social services both inside our schools and in the local community. The goal is improved quality of life for students, their families and their communities.

All schools are different so new services must be a good fit. We are now holding meetings to discuss local needs and interests with staff, parents, students, community members and our partners at each school. Then we work with service providers to decide which services will best meet those needs.

We’ve already introduced new services at some of the 16 schools selected for phase one of the program and many more will follow soon. Here are some examples.
