"Non Nobis Solum" - Not for Ourselves Alone

Forest Hill C.I. is very much a 'first choice school.' Our students choose Forest Hill for its strong academic reputation. We are a small school with a family atmosphere, offering outstanding facilities and supportive programs. Our teachers partner with you to ensure you achieve your potential.

Our motto is 'Not for Ourselves Alone.' Our students are involved in fundraising activities throughout the year and have received many citations for their efforts.

Our system provides opportunities for broader leadership skills development. We offer an extensive co-curricular program in theatre and music productions, athletics and a variety of clubs for personal and academic growth.

The Arts

We have a well- deserved reputation for excellence in the Arts. Students audition for our annual fall play or spring musical. Both productions are student produced and directed. Students from all grades are involved in every aspect of the productions. Our dedicated teachers assist with set design and construction of elaborate sets.

We offer you vocal and instrumental music, as well as strings. Our students perform regularly at school and are often the highlight of special events, including our commencement ceremonies and information nights.

English as a Second Language

We offer students a complete range of English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. We provide ESL programs to students from North Toronto C.I. and Northern S.S. The cultural diversity of our ESL students enriches the lives of all students, adding a new dimension to our collective understanding of global issues.

Student Success Team Works for You

Our student success team meets regularly to help students in Grade 9 and 10 who need additional support to adjust to the demands of high school. In the first semester, they help students with their studies. In the second semester, they offer more intensive support, including credit courses to develop their learning skills and recover credits missed in the first semester.

Fabulous Facilities

Completely renovated in 1992, we offer you amazing facilities with temperature-controlled heating and air-conditioning systems. The public areas are bright and airy with a full wall of windows in the cafeteria and library. The front foyer, with its centre skylight, is the gathering place where we display students' artwork and come together to enjoy student performances.

For students with Special Needs

In partnership with our Special Education teachers and our Student Success team, we offer a well-developed student support program, including a new state-of-the-art language lab to assist our special needs students.

Supportive Counsellors

Our counsellors want you to be successful. Our support team of guidance, administration, social worker and psychologist helps our students by designing programs to meet their unique needs. Their 'make-it-happen' approach delivers speedy intervention to provide assistance.
