"Be one of Bowmore's Best"

Bowmore Road P.S. is a large, dynamic kindergarten to grade 8 learning community of approximately 690 students and over 70 staff members. Our school is situated in the Upper Beaches, and it is the combination of the twinning of two former schools in 1989 (Bowmore Road P.S. built in 1923, and Fairmount Park Senior School built in 1963). Most junior school students walk to school. Students attending special education programs at Bowmore until grade 6 include those with Gifted identification and those with a Learning Disability identification. Students receive bussing until grade 5. The range of special programs expand for students once they reach grade 7, as we are also are a TDSB site for Extended French for grade 7 and 8 students.

Integrated within the Bowmore School is a wide range of home-school community partnerships. Bowmore is home to a drop-in Parenting Centre that is located on the ground level. The north end of the school houses the Bowmore Child Enrichment Centre for student’s age 2 1/2 to 5 years of age. Located at the south end of the building is the Bowmore Community Daycare and 10+ Club that provides before school and after school opportunities. The Fairmount Community Centre is also part of the school and a successful partnership exists that supports the shared use of the school facilities.

Learning & Technology

As a school community, our goal is to create an inspiring place where children can learn and grow and gain the knowledge and skills they need to prepare for the future. To support this focus, Bowmore has purchased Smartboards for Special Education and Grade 5 to 8 classes. Technology tools are accessible and computers are available to students in every classroom, kindergarten through grade 8. We have a dedicated computer lab to accommodate full classes. Teaching staff regularly engage in professional development to support this school-wide commitment to innovative approaches to cross-curricular literacy.
