Lord Lansdowne Public School

Welcome to Lord Lansdowne!

Our School

Lord Lansdowne Public School is located in the middle of downtown Toronto. The original building was

built in 1888; the present building was erected in 1961. The school has over 300 students. Nearly

two-thirds do not have English as their first language. Chinese students represent the largest

non-English speaking group. Lord Lansdowne is an Integrated Extended Day school where students

stay 30 minutes longer each day in order to participate in the International Language Programs

(Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish) . The Core and Extended French Programs further enhance the

school's emphasis on language learning.

School Vision

Through participation in Ministry and Toronto District School Board initiatives and on-going review,

revision and modification of the existing school-based practices, we maintain our "tradition of excellence"

and strive to provide our students with the opportunities to achieve individual student success. The

foundation for our work lies upon the Lord Lansdowne Public School vision, the philosophical framework

for all we do at the school.

Our mission is to maintain our tradition of excellence in education that provides equitable opportunities

for student success and empowers them to become life-long learners and contributing members of

society.
