TDSB Releases EQAO and OSSLT Results

Today, the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) released achievement results for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB).

Grade 3 Reading, Writing and Mathematics Results
In 2016-17, the percentage of Grade 3 students who performed at or above the provincial standard improved by 1 percentage point in Reading (74% to 75%), decreased by 2 percentage points in Writing (77% to 75%), and decreased by 2 percentage points in Mathematics (67% to 65%), compared to 2015-16.

Grade 6 Reading, Writing and Mathematics Results

In 2016-17, the percentage of Grade 6 students who performed at or above the provincial standard improved by 1 percentage point in Reading (80% to 81%), stayed the same in Writing (81%), and decreased by 1 percentage point in Mathematics (55% to 54%), compared to 2015-16.

Grade 9 Mathematics Results

In 2016-17, the percentage of Grade 9 students who performed at or above the provincial standard decreased by 4 percentage points in Applied Mathematics (32% to 28%) and 1 percentage point in Academic Mathematics (81% to 80%), compared to 2015-16.

Grade 10 Literacy Results

In 2016-17, the percentage of fully participating first-time eligible students successful in the OSSLT stayed the same at 81%, compared to 2015-16.

Following the release of EQAO and OSSLT results, TDSB staff, administrators and teachers analyze the data to determine appropriate strategies, programs and initiatives aimed at improving student achievement in reading, writing, and mathematics.
